Bio: Alex J. Katsaros, Director of Development

Originally from Chicago, Alex J. Katsaros is a graduate student in UCF's new Texts & Technology PhD program, since having completed both his Bachelors (2000) and Master's (2003) in English Literature and Liberal Studies respectively -- with a focus on "locative" digital media research & development. Alex has also served in various non-profit capacities around Orlando since 2003, including Community Outreach for the UCF Downtown Media Arts Center (dMAC), Program Director for the Orlando Latin American Film & Heritage Festival (OLA-FEST), and various volunteer roles at Digital Media Alliance Florida (DMAF) and the Florida Digital Media Education Consortium (FDMEC) -- curently appointed to the role of Director of Development. Artistically, he can also be seen around town playing acoustic/electric guitar and hand/synth percussion in a few genre-diverse bands including Yanbo, Omiza River, and Stranger Than Fiction
